Parasports livestream and broadcasting on a Para Volley Europe event

There are projects that represent a turning point in the life of a company. For Pélicom Média, the 2025 Sitting Volleyball European Championship was precisely such a milestone. We have been working on parasports livestream projects for more than a decade, but this was the first time we appeared as an official supporter of an international para-sport event – and not just any event, but a European Championship.

The A-Division continental tournament was held in Győr between June 28 and August 2 at the City University Sports Hall, covering the full men’s and women’s programme: group stage, quarterfinals, semifinals, placement matches and finals. And we were given the role we feel most at home in: delivering the host broadcast production for the semifinals and finals.

Parasport livestream feeds

Parasport livestream production with an OB van – what does this mean in practice?

As part of our contribution, Pélicom Média was responsible for the complete live programme, which we delivered to
– the ParaVolley Europe YouTube channel,
– Sport TV,
– and additional broadcasters requesting the live feed.

The technical execution was a five-camera parasports livestream production with slow-motion and replay, full commentary, and PVE-branded sport graphics according to ParaVolley Europe’s visual guidelines. In other words: a full broadcast-level show meeting all international production requirements.

Why was this more than “just another production” for us?

To be honest, when we started working on parasport events years ago, I never imagined that one day we would stand next to a European Championship as an official supporter. Our presence was not only a professional milestone, but also an emotional one.

It was a special moment on site to see our Xlex-registered branding displayed alongside the logos of major companies supporting para-sport. For us, this was a clear sign that we are moving in the right direction.

We owe special thanks to Gabriella Vatai, President of the Hungarian Volleyball Federation, who recognised the potential in this cooperation and treated us as true partners throughout the project.

Why does host broadcast quality matter so much at an event like this?

One of the main challenges of parasport broadcasting is that many viewers rarely encounter these sports. This makes it essential to
– present the game from multiple perspectives,
– provide clear graphics and scoring systems,
– and ensure continuous replay.

In this discipline, the dynamics, tactical elements and technical execution only reach the viewer properly if the cameras are positioned correctly and the director times the cuts with precision. A single-camera stream would simply not be capable of delivering this.

That is why we built the entire coverage with broadcast-level methodology – just as we would at any large international event.

Technical setup in brief

The backbone of the production was our compact OB-van system, developed in recent years specifically for events requiring television-grade output on online platforms.

Key technical elements of the production included:
– five Sony cameras in strategic positions
– slow-motion/replay (vMix MAX)
– commentator position with IFB
– PVE sport graphics
– simultaneous multi-platform streaming and feed delivery

Parasport Livestream Outside Broadcast

This setup allowed us to publish unified, high-quality feeds of the semifinals and finals across all platforms.

A European Championship that viewers will remember

The speed, routine and broadcast mindset of our on-site crew made the entire production run smoothly. The streams ran continuously on ParaVolley Europe’s platforms, and based on viewer feedback, this was the first time many people had seen high-quality live coverage of international sitting volleyball matches. We are proud that we were able to contribute to elevating the visibility of parasport and demonstrate our capabilities on a European Championship stage.

What we take away from this project

– parasport also requires television-grade production quality,
– strong partnerships often deliver more value than budgets alone,
– and long years of consistent work truly pay off.

For us, the 2025 Sitting Volleyball European Championship was not just another project; it was a professional and human confirmation that strengthened our conviction:
high-quality sports broadcasting creates value, builds community, and reveals the often unseen stories behind sport.
